Testing

So I took two course-challenge tests this week. The first was on "the technology required to be a teacher" and the second was on the US Consitution.

It turns out the technology required to teach a class is Microsoft Office. You were allowed to use any word processor you wanted according to the instructions, but only MS Word was installed and you weren't allowed to bring in any software. Sigh.

I had to fix the printer queue for the proctor about ten minutes into the test, and completed all the assignments in about 40 minutes (four hours was allowed). I got my score back and apparently failed at "word processing" because I didn't put an ink signature on my "standard business letter to parents". It doesn't affect me since I got a perfect score on everything else and therefore pass, but the idea that the grade is based more on signing the printout than actual textual formatting skill fails the spirit of the law requiring the test horribly. I don't know if there is anyone to contact, but would like to.

On the US Constitution test, I scored a 98/100, but I don't get to find out which one question I missed of the fifty. Actually, I already suspect it was the question on lobbyists. I may have taken a somewhat cynical approach to the topic... There was also an essay section, but I won't get those scores for a week.
