I ended up doing two pieces. One is a 5" tile with a single-threaded 4-way knot; the other an 8" trivet with a double threaded 4x4-way knot. The pattern is clearly discernible, but many of the lines are uneven, and one leaf of the large piece bled and pooled pretty badly. I'll need to substantially improve my technique in painting the lines before I try the more ambitious patterns I was thinking of.

I think in the near future I'll be spending more time on cross-stitch. I have a large pattern that is a little over half finished that I want to return to before the fabric stretches out of shape any worse than it already has.

I just started work on a ceramic art thingie. Basically it is supposed to be a scalloped coaster-like object for putting hot things on (like small pots). It's around 8" in diameter and I'm going to put a celtic knot design on top of it. There is a place next door to Sylvan Learning Center that fires/glazes ceramics for around $9. My only concern is whether I can get the paint even enough to make the knot look right.
