I came up with a joke last week that I thought was pretty clever, but it is also more than a little obscure. Not everyone knows what the word "polyamory" means. The polyamorous crowd is sufficiently diverse that any rigid definition will likely fall short, but most everyone can agree that it has something to do with being in love with more than one person, specifically in an above board way rather than cheating on a monogamous relationship.

Many people have strong negative reactions to the very idea of polyamory. Some of these people will want nothing to do with you if you are polyamorous. This is known as the "Poly Exclusion Principle"

At this point anyone with an adequate Quantum Physics background is smirking or groaning at the pun, and everyone else is confused or still waiting for the joke. For the latter crowd, suffice it to say that the "Pauli Exclusion Principle" is the super-small physics version of the reason why things bump into each other. As with most puns, it probably isn't funny for you unless you already knew both meanings.
