Decidedly PUMA
Aug. 27th, 2008 05:26 amLast election they payed a lot of attention to undecideds. Look at any news talk broadcast from the period and you'll see someone calling in to explain their undecided position. The thing is, truly undecided people in an election as polarized as 2004 are typically apathetic and don't bother to call in to shows. Push on these "undecided" even a little, and out comes an extreme version of a party line. This is important, these people were lying about their affiliation to get airtime for their partisan message. In the context of airtime, they vastly outnumbered people struggling with a real choice like Nader v Kerry.
2008 will feature the same tactic. The form du jour of the lie is to claim to be a Clinton supporter. Here is a liar in that mold. This person is a partisan Republican. This person never supported Clinton. This is just a liar trying to dupe others.
